Visit Alaska on Holiday
On your Alaska Cruise, discover the Alaskan town of Skagway, known as one of the best-preserved Gold Rush towns; Skagway is brimming with history and has a welcoming local charm. Learn more about the fascinating Gold Rush story and visit the wonderful historical buildings built by the original gold prospectors all those years ago.
Glacier Bay is another incredible place to discover and the best way to see it is on a cruise. Witness the jaw-dropping cliff-flanked fjords and take in the remarkable wilderness. Glacier Bay is a wildlife lover’s dream, with humpback and killer whales breaching the water below.
Juneau, Alaska’s capital city is a wonderful place to discover with a warm and open atmosphere. We highly recommend the Mendenhall glacier just outside of Juneau, where you can take in this breathtaking mass of ice and then why not head down to Steep Creek where you may even catch a glimpse of a black bear! Juneau has a myriad of walking trails and hiking tracks available. The 250 miles of maintained trails have enough variation to challenge anybody’s level of fitness and they take you anywhere from Alaska’s beaches, to the soaring mountains and alpine meadows.
Ketchikan, another one of Alaska’s picturesque towns, circled by lush green landscape and with evergreen-coated mountains sprouting out of the waters, is a beautiful area; formed by the cascades of rainfall from the rainforest environment. We recommend the Great Alaskan Lumberjack show, great for entertaining kids and adults as you watch men scaling trees and balancing on floating logs. It’s all about Alaska!
With a variety of comfortable accommodations, bars and restaurants both on and off the mountain, plus some of the world’s most exciting summer and winter activities, Whistler is a must see on any Canadian bucket list.
