Flights and holidays to Quebec City

Quebec City map Quebec City video

Quebec City is beautiful, oozing a real Old World charm. Cobble streets, designer boutiques, Parisian-style cafes, impressive architecture and intriguing history. See Canada's oldest city from the deck of a cruise boat on the St. Lawrence River. As you cruise along the shoreline, a guide relates the story of ‘New France' and tells you about the origins of Quebec's most famous landmarks. Relax and take in the spectacular views of the Chateau Frontenac, Cap Diamant, Ile d'Orleans and Montmorency Falls. And just when you think you have seen it all, you can hop on the famous Faubourg Elevator to visit the inspiring Saint Jean Baptiste district.

While in Quebec, a must is a visit to Montmorency Falls. Reaching higher heights than Niagara Falls, you have the unique experience of walking the width of this natural wonder via a suspension bridge. Take the gondola to the peak and walk the bridge across – certainly not for the faint of hearted – but you can always take the stairs up or down the length as well.

Quebec City Things To Do

There is so much to see and do in Quebec City, it is hard to know where to start! Whether you are a history buff looking to unveil the story of the French roots, or you seek glamour in chic and trendy bars, the city has it all.

A visit to La Citadelle may be on your list, the star-shaped fort tower which sits above the St Lawrence River. Built by the British, this is now home to Canada’s only fully French speaking regiment, and offers an incredible insight into the history of the city and how it became how it is today. This is part of the Fortifications of Quebec, and you can walk the city walls and see all of the imposing gates as you explore. Quebec is the only fortified city in North America with almost 4.6km of wall to walk. Up here you can view the incredible city views.

A visit to the Montmorency Falls is also a must. The Falls are actually 30m higher than Niagara Falls, so you can image the force and splendour of the water as it crashes down. Venture to the top of the Falls by one of the walking trails or in the summer months enjoy the scenic gondola ride up. You can also view the Falls from the St Lawrence River they are that impressive!

Parliament Hill is one of the most popular tourist spots in the city, and the impressive building is home of the National Assembly. The area surrounding Parliament hill is beautiful with unique neighbourhoods to explore and incredible architecture. The streets here are busy and are lined with Parisian-style cafes, restaurants, luxurious hotels and trendy nightclubs.
