A visit to Alberta is not complete without venturing into the splendid Rocky Mountains. There are the stunning Banff and Jasper Natie as well as Lake Louise and the Icefield Parkways, and that's naming just a few of the world renowned natural highlights.

Eat at... Velvet. Located in the lobby of the Grand Theatre Junction and is truly a
unique Calgary downtown hotspot. It is a mix of modern and classic, contrasting
elements of the theatre’s historical architecture and the restaurants’ funky
trendsetting design.

Shop at... Calgary’s Alberta Boot Co, where cowboy boots are hand-made
on the premises. Choose the colours and leather that you like, from traditional
cowhide and flexible kangaroo, to rattlesnake and alligator, ostrich and python

Hike... along the shore of gorgeous Moraine Lake, just outside Lake Louise.
The water is a vivid peacock blue. Then stroll up the trail to Consolation Lake.

Visit... Calgary’s Glenbow Museum with its exhibits of Western Canadian heritage,

America’s best exhibits about 9,000 years of First Nation’s history.
Have fun... all year at any of the fabulous ski resorts: Banff’s Mount Norquay
or Sunshine Village, Lake Louise or Jasper’s Marmot Basin. In summer, take a
90 minute float trip down the Athabasca River: wet but safe, scenic and fun
for all ages.
