About Canada: Atlantic Canada

Map

Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Each of these unique provinces features its own natural wonders and together they make the holiday of a lifetime.

New Brunswick has miles upon miles of white sandy beaches with some of the warmest water north of Virginia.

Nova Scotia offers 7,600 kilometres of stunning coast, and boasts an astonishing variety of activities for every taste. Wherever you venture, you will never be more than 35 minutes from the sea.

Things to Do and See: see below or click here

Newfoundland and Labrador is one of the world's most pristine and aweinspiring destinations. It is relatively unexplored, so you can be one of the first intrepid visitors to savour some of Newfoundland's 17,000 kilometres of spectacular coastal views and majestic landscapes.

Prince Edward Island is blessed with miles of uninterrupted sandy shores that are rich in nature and wildlife. The Island also hosts a wealth of outdoor pursuits, including some of North America's best golf courses.

Atlantic Canada is totally unspoiled and peaceful.

We suggest that you start at Nova Scotia, where your flight will arrive, and spend time travelling around each province, enjoying a selection of the numerous sea excursions, nature parks and other activities.

There are many recommended self-drive trails that will help you make the most of your time – why not hire a motorhome and have the freedom of the road as well as having your own home from home on the road.

In Atlantic Canada the people are friendly, the atmosphere tranquil, yet with an abundance of lively colourful festivals, you are promised a trip with the memories of a lifetime. We fly into Halifax from London Gatwick and Manchester.

‘The Rooms'
June 29, 2005 marked the celebration of one of the most important projects in the cultural life of Newfoundland & Labrador - artistic breadth, historical sweep, archival depth - all culminating with the opening of THE ROOMS, a $40-million complex and an all-encompassing Newfoundland & Labrador experience! A proud testament to the significant culture and history of this province, and a stunning state-of-the-art focal point for the Province's museum, art gallery and archives, THE ROOMS soars majestically into the St. John's skyline and combines twenty-first century technology with a visual reference to the past. www.therooms.ca

Celebrating with Anne of Green Gables

Fundy Tide Runners

‘An Accommodating Destination'
A funky new boutique hotel, a new upscale brownstone ‘hometel', an 80-unit business hotel, and a new Courtyard Marriott Harbourview in the historic heart of downtown St. John's signal a hotel ‘boom' in Newfoundland & Labrador's capital city! Add to this, nineteen new 5-star luxury suites at The Spa at the Monastery and a 126-suite expansion at the Delta St. John's Hotel, and accommodation for all market requirements and tastes is assured. www.gov.nl.ca/tourism/accommodation

Coast to Coast Music
Prince Edward Island has always had a healthy musical tradition but in recent years, performers have been springing out of the woodwork and onto stages across the province. The community “ceilidh” (pronounced ‘kay-lee' and Gaelic for musical evening) can be found in every corner of the Island, and each has its own unique character. Add to that new musical events like the second edition of the PEI Jazz and Blues Festival in July, the annual PEI Fiddle Festival or the new show, “Highland Storm” at the Canadian College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts. And of course, live music of all sorts can be enjoyed at the pubs and nightclubs around the cities and towns. See www.peiplay.com/music for a musical itinerary of the Island.

There's no experience necessary except for an enthusiasm to join the ranks of fly-fishers from around the world. www.pondsresort.com
