For example: When travelling with a domestic carrier in the UK/Canada you will travel under the Domestic Airlines conditions of carriage. For example; Your travel will be subject to the airlines baggage restrictions. The information below is as up-to-date as possible, but is subject to change. The Luggage information can change up to your departure date – this information can change from date of booking. 1) How much luggage can I take with me? Air Transat Flights:
The size of hand luggage cannot exceed 23 x 40 x 51 centimetres on Air Transat flights (sizes are approximate).
The overall dimensions of checked luggage must not exceed 158 cm (62 in) (length + width + height) If the size is greater than this, your luggage will need to be booked as cargo. Please www.airtransatcargo.com at least 48 hours in advance of your flight to book luggage as cargo. Separate charges apply and will be advised based on size and weight of baggage. If your airline baggage information is not listed please review the specific website of the airline you are travelling with to ensure you are aware of your baggage allowance, Canadian Affair are not responsible for charges applied to the carriage of baggage on any Domestic Carrier. 2) What sporting equipment/other objects can I take and is there a charge? Please note that due to health and safety regulations no single item of luggage can weigh more than 32kg. Pushchairs and Cots Air Transat will carry one pushchair/pram and a car seat free of charge. Pushchairs can be put in the hold at the boarding gate. Any other equipment will be counted as part of the luggage allowance. Golf equipment Air Transat does not charge for golf clubs, up to 20 kilograms in weight. Golf equipment consists of one golf bag, 14 clubs, 12 golf balls and one pair of shoes. Bicycles Air Transat charge a GBP £20 / CAD $30, each way and on all destinations, for each transported bicycle. An oversized plastic bag is included in the GBP £20 / CAD $30 handling fee, available at the Air Transat check-in counter.. For groups of 10 passengers or more who are travelling with bicycles please contact us in advance as alternate arrangements may be required (additional fees may apply). Fishing Equipment Air Transat – one free bag (rods & tackle etc) up to 20kgs weight will be allowed free of charge. Note: Tackle boxes and rod bag must be carried in the hold of the aircraft. Under no circumstances may live maggots or other live bait be carried. Diving Equipment Air Transat will allow you to carry Diving Equipment as stipulated above; however will allow one tank up to 20kg free of charge, additional weight will be charged as excess baggage Ski equipment (snow or water) or Snowboard
Wheelchairs Air Transat -Wheelchairs may be carried in the hold at no extra charge. Carriage of battery-powered wheelchairs must be arranged in advance of travel and this is subject to stringent safety regulations. Canoe or Kayak Not accepted at check-in counters. These items must be shipped via cargo only. Transportation charges apply. Kitesurfs / Kit Board Air Transat - One free bag weighing up to 10kgs, additional weight will be charged at normal excess baggage charges. Paragliders Air Transat - subject to excess fees if over free baggage allowance. Windsurfs / Surfboards Air Transat - charge GBP £65 / CAD $100 All windsurfs must be packed in their standard carrying bag and the mast must be securely attached. The ‘fin’ must be removed and boards of a honeycomb construction must have the drain plug(s) removed. Pre-booking is required. Please contact the Pre-flights department for the airline. Sporting equipment not listed is subject to excess fees Musical Instruments Hand Luggage: Checked Luggage: Animals Air Transat: Only cats and dogs are accepted as animals for carriage in the checked baggage hold on flights from United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland to Canada. All other animals are refused on all Air Transat flights. Passengers must be in possession of all animal-related documents required by the country of destination (call for details of what you need to do). To United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland, cats and dogs will be accepted as cargo only on Air Transat flights – advance arrangements are required and additional fees apply. Please contact Air Transat Cargo for more information. Service animals: The United Kingdom will only allow entry through certain airports and extensive pre-flight arrangements and paperwork must be completed well before the intended date of travel (months before in some cases). All other sporting equipment/special items not listed above will be charged the applicable excess baggage charges: 3) Who should I contact if my baggage is lost or damaged? You should contact the airline you have flown with - Air Transat flights contact an airline representative at your arrival airport who will help you complete a Property Irregularity Report and explain how your baggage will be traced. If a representative is not available please e-mail cbagages@airtransat.com or baggagetracing@airtransat.com. Canadian Affair does not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings. As a rule all property left on an Ait Transat flight or at an airport will be passed to the Lost Property department of the airport in question. This can take upto 24 hrs to process.

Shannon 4) If I have booked a connecting flight, will my luggage be automatically transferred? No. You will have to collect your luggage and check-in separately for each flight. We would also advise you to leave a minimum of 3 hours between your flight arrival time, and the new departure time of your connecting flight. Delays do occur from time to time and neither Canadian Affair nor its airline partners accept any responsibility for missed connecting flights. 5) Can I take food products into Canada? No. Agricultural laws in Canada are extremely strict and prohibit the carriage of food into the country. Please note: The information above is as up-to-date as possible, but is subject to change.
