Kicking Horse
Just across the border from Lake Louise into British Columbia, Kicking Horse lies perched above
the town of Golden. It is a small and friendly resort with just a few on-mountain hotels, and this is
half the attraction.
The skiing is out of this world! If you are a confident skier or boarder you'll be in heaven as it offers all the exhilaration and challenges that you could want. That said there is plenty to satisfy the beginner and intermediate abilities. If you are really into your skiing why not try your hand at cross country skiing, heli skiing or boarding, telemark skiing, ski touring or ice climbing too... there's certainly enough high adrenaline activities here.
The village of Golden is just a short drive away and a shuttle bus taking just 15 minutes runs throughout the day to the slopes (approx $6 per day payable locally). There are restaurants, shops and bars in Golden where you can relax, enjoy some great food and socialise with the locals! It is a warm and friendly resort that you'll feel immediately at home in.
This resort is easily accessible if you have a hire car and it is well worth a day trip if you are staying at Banff or Lake Louise.
