Day 1 - Fly from London to Halifax
Welcome to the historic coastal city of Halifax! On arrival, your airport transfer takes you to your tour hotel. At 6.00pm, join your Tour Director for a Welcome Reception and an opportunity to mingle over drinks and a light meal.
Day 2 - Halifax
After breakfast journey to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lunenberg. At the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic learn tales of the sea from a local fisherman and about the effect of the fishing industry on the region’s people. On the return to Halifax call into picturesque Peggy’s Cove.
Day 3 - Halifax
After breakfast visit the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic where your guide will engage you in key historical events that occurred in Halifax, including the Halifax Explosion and the Titanic. Visit the local cemetery where many of the Titanic victims were laid to rest before a visit to the beautiful Halifax Public Gardens. Your tour ends at the famous Citadel Hill. This evening’s dinner will be in one of Halifax’s best restaurants where you can experience local cuisine.
Day 4 – Halifax to Baddeck
Continue your journey after breakfast to the stunning Cape Breton Island. En route visit the Glooscap Heritage Centre to learn about the Mi’kmaq heritage and Glooscap legends. Continue on the Canso Causeway to Cape Breton Island and Baddeck. Upon arrival enjoy a boat cruise on Bras d’Or Lake, Canada’s only inland sea. In the evening, experience Cape Breton-style home cooking at your hotel.
Day 5 – The Cabot Trail
After breakfast travel along breathtaking Cape Breton and the Cabot Trail, one of the world’s most scenic drives. Visit the Gaelic College where your local guide will demonstrate the fabric milling tradition and kilt making. Enjoy lunch in the scenic village of Cheticamp. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Cape Breton show – A Celtic Evening of Smiles. Engage in traditional music and song.
Day 6 – Baddeck to Charlottetown
Today starts with a visit to the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site. Enjoy a ‘white glove’ experience and go behind the scenes to touch the depths of the private life of one of the most influential figures in human history. Travel to the lovely harbour of Pictou and cross the Northumberland Strait to magical Prince Edward Island and arrive in quaint Charlottetown.
Day 7 - Charlottetown
Begin your exploration of PEI with a local guide starting at Prince Edward Island National Park, before continuing to Cavendish for an in-depth visit to Green Gables House, its museum and sites. This is the fabled house that provided inspiration for L. M. Montgomery’s beloved children’s classic – Anne of Green Gables.
Day 8 - Charlottetown
A full day at leisure to enjoy this delightful city.
Day 9 – Charlottetown to Saint John
Departing Charlottetown, drive across the Confederation Bridge to Shediac where an unforgettable culinary experience awaits, as you cruise the waters of Shediac Bay aboard a lobster boat. Enjoy a lobster feast for lunch. Continue your journey and stop at Hopewell Rocks before heading for Saint John.
Day 10 – Saint John to Digby
Take the morning to explore Saint John’s and tour through its charming streets before boarding a ferry to cross the Bay of Fundy and arrive in Digby, famous for its fishing fleet and the delicious scallops. This evening, enjoy a ‘Scallop 101 experience’ - a culinary demonstration of Canadian haute cuisine, featuring the highly prized seafood.
Day 11 – Digby
Begin your day with a short journey to the small town of Annapolis Royal, rich with Acadian Culture, before spending the afternoon enjoying a whale watching cruise on the Bay of Fundy. This cruise provides you with important information and sightings of endangered or rare species of whales like the finback and right whale, as well as other species of whales, dolphins, porpoises and seabirds. Return to your hotel and enjoy a farewell dinner.
Day 12 – Fly from Halifax to London
