Railways of the Rockies Itinerary - Calgary to Vancouver

Day 1

Arriving into Calgary, you will make your way independently to your downtown hotel where you will meet your tour director at check in. Once you have checked into your hotel room, you then have the rest of your day free to explore the sights and enjoy the vibrant night life. Spend the night in Calgary.

Day 2

This morning you will enjoy a sightseeing Calgary city tour before heading into the magical Canadian Rocky Mountains. The mountain range is spectacular and spans for as far as the eye can see. Upon arrival in Banff you will have the rest of the afternoon and evening to enjoy this popular mountain town. Spend the night in Banff

Day 3

Today you will enjoy a full day of sightseeing in Banff and the surrounding areas. Highlights include a ride on the Banff Gondola showing breathtaking views over the Rockies. Spend the night in Banff.

Day 4

Rocky Mountaineer Banff to Kamloops
Early morning you will board the legendary Rocky Mountaineer train as you journey through the magical mountain range and take in the breathtaking views at every turn, and you will see just why this service has been famed as one of the best experiences in the world. Spend the night in Kamloops

Day 5

Rocky Mountaineer Kamloops to Vancouver
As you journey through the Rockies you will pass the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River. The scenery will change again as you enter the stunning coastal mountain range and onto the glistening Pacific coastal gem Vancouver. Spend the night in Vancouver

Day 6

This morning you will enjoy a sightseeing city tour of Vancouver highlighting the history and the best must see sights and attractions that you might want to visit later on in the afternoon when you have some free time to explore the city at your own pace. The nightlife in Vancouver is lively and well worth exploring! Spend the night in Vancouver.

Day 7

Today you will embark on a full day excursion to Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, on Vancouver Island. You will enjoy a scenic ferry ride over to the Island and also entry into the beautiful Butchart Gardens which is blooming with wonderful flower arrangements and displays. You will head back to Vancouver in the evening for your last night. Spend the night in Vancouver.

Day 8

End of Tour or Depart on Alaska Cruise
The morning is yours to squeeze in some last minute sightseeing before you head back to the airport for your return flight. For the ultimate western holiday, we recommend adding on a 7 night Alaskan Cruise to the end of your trip; just ask our experienced agents for more information.
