Vancouver is the perfect summer getaway

There endless things to do in Vancouver in summer. Canada’s Western coastal seaport city is the ideal location for an outdoor enthusiast – there aren’t many places in the world where you can hike, scuba dive, kayak and golf all in the same day. Combining the best of a cosmopolitan city with nearly 1,300km of parklands and 11 miles of beaches, there’s certainly no shortage of fresh air in Vancouver.

Walkers will come into their element in this beautiful city. Simply a 25 minute drive away are the North Shore Mountains, whose Southernmost peaks form a stunning backdrop to the city. World renowned for walking and mountain bike trails, try the Baden-Powell trail – a 48km long hike from Horseshoe Bay in the West to Deep Cove in the North. For those feeling slightly more adventurous, there is white-water rafting on the Capilano river, Lynn Creek and Seymour river – don’t worry it’s just as fun to swim in these.

Vancouver also hosts a vibrant nightlife scene, with numerous bars, nightclubs and upscale restaurants catering to everyone. As one of the world’s most ethically (and linguistically) diverse cities, there’s a range of cuisine… Try the Granville Entertainment District, which has one of the highest concentrations of bars
