Day 1 - 3 Seattle
Upon arrival into Seattle independently transfer to your downtown hotel. Known as ‘The Emerald City’, is a young vibrant city and is the birthplace of two modern marvels, Boeing and Microsoft. The mild weather, spectacular natural surrounding and rich culture attract visitors from around the world. Visit Pike Place Market, home to the world-famous flying fish and the oldest open-air farmers market on the West Coast. Another tourist hot spot is the Space Needle, a futuristic fixture of the Seattle Skyline, built for the 1962 World’ Fair, giving panoramic views of the city from its 520-foot high observation deck. Walk through Pioneer Square, Seattle’s oldest neighbourhood and a National Historic District which was rebuilt after the Great Fire of 1889.
Day 4 Embark Cruise on Ruby Princess
Today make your way to Pier 91 to embark on the Ruby Princess and start your voyage to the Last Frontier, Alaska.
Day 5 At Sea
The Inside Passage is famed for its glacier-carved fjords and pristine forested shores. Whales, dolphins and other marine life as well as bald eagles and tufted puffins can be seen from the decks of your ship. Cascading waterfalls and majestic snow-capped mountains will have you captured at every turn.
Day 6 Juneau
Welcome to the state capital Juneau surrounded by beautiful glaciers and stunning views of mountains and waterways. View the Mendenhall Glacier at 12miles long, half a mile wide and 200-1,800 feet deep. Juneau offers opportunities for whale watching, glacier flightseeing as well as dog sledding.
Day 7 Skagway
Skagway was the gateway to the gold fields for those who flocked north in search of riches. The White Pass route through the Coast Mountains as well as the Chilkoot Trail were used by countless stampeders and many would perish in their journey for gold. Today Skagway reflects that gold rush era in Broadway where false fronts have been attached to buildings and saloons house locals dressed up in period costumes to recreate the gold rush buzz. Today you can journey the White Pass on the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad linking Skagway with Yukon, Canada as well as panning for gold at the camps to experience what life was like during the boom-town days.
Day 8 Glacier Bay
Princess Cruises are one of a select few cruise lines permitted to journey the waters of Glacier Bay. This national park and reserve boasts some of the world’s most spectacular tidewater glaciers. Glacier Bay National Park are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Park Rangers will join the ship to share their knowledge and help identify the areas abundant wildlife and glaciers.
Day 9 Ketchikan
Be captivated by Ketchikan’s thriving native culture, home to the world’s oldest collection of totem poles at Totem Heritage Centre as well as three south eastern groups, the Haida, Tlingit and Tsimshian. Take in the dramatic beauty of Misty Fjords National Monument encompassing 2 million acres of granite cliffs, 1,000-foot waterfalls and crystalline lakes.
Day 10 Victoria
The city of Victoria exudes old world charm, with fragrant flowers found everywhere. The beautiful Inner Harbour is a great place to watch the bustle of this charming city as you watch water taxis ferrying people around as well as the floatplanes taking off and landing here. Tour the Legislative Buildings here which are illuminated by 3,000 lights come evening. Butchart Gardens is another of Victoria popular attractions; a 55-acre floral kingdom features themed gardens as well as fountains and themed displays throughout the year. Whale watching off the coast of Victoria is hugely popular due to the Resident pods that have made these waters home. Sighting these majestic marine mammals is almost a guarantee.
Day 11 End of tour
Disembark your cruise ship as you arrive back into Seattle and transfer independently transfer back to the airport for your flight back to the UK
ESTA online application for entry to the USA
Important: All cruise passengers must complete the online Visa Waiver form by visiting https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov which is needed for entry into the US at a cost of $14 per person.
You must complete an ESTA application at least 72 hours before flying. Any traveller who fails to complete an ESTA application at least 3 days before departure will almost certainly be refused entry into the country under new US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations. If you are even considering visiting the States, it's worth filling out an ESTA application now as they are valid for two years.
