The Canadian Rockies surrounding Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise contain a lifetime of walking and hiking opportunities. Eight National and Provincial Mountains feature magnificent landscapes – steely grey limestone peaks are clothed in forests, waterfalls, craggy cliffs and crystalline glaciers! This is a spectacular 6 night hiking tour that will reveal incredible sights, breathtaking vistas and hopefully some of the local wildlife if you are lucky! You will enjoy the company of friendly knowledgeable guides whilst staying in comfortable hotels in the most popular mountain towns in the Rockies.

Day 1 – Canmore
Arrive independently in Canmore and meet for a welcome session with your group. Go over plans and options for the following days looking at maps of the area and a check to see that you are properly outfitted. Overnight in Canmore.
Day 2 – Canmore
Your guide will meet you at the hotel after breakfast and you’ll head out on your first hike in one of the many parks of Kananaskis country. Your guide will keep plans flexible and choose a hike that’s not too hard in order to allow everyone to acclimatize to the higher elevation and dry air. Breakfast and lunch included. Overnight in Canmore.
Day 3 – Canmore to Lake Louise
After breakfast we drive north towards Lake Louise, stopping to hike in Kootenay National Park en route. Paget Lookout and the Stanley Glacier are two possible destinations offering excellent trails. After our hike, we complete our drive north to Lake Louise with its spectacular lake surrounded by enormous peaks and their looming glaciers. Breakfast and lunch included. Overnight in Lake Louise.
Day 4 – Lake Louise / Hiking in Jasper National Park
Today the journey involves some travelling along one of the most scenic drives in the world - the Icefields Parkway! The road leads through valleys overhung by glaciers, past lakes and icefields, over alpine passes and meadows to reach the world-famous Columbia Icefields. With the Columbia Icefields and Athabasca Glacier as our backdrop, we hike up Wilcox Meadows. Return to Lake Louise for the night where the remainder of the evening is at leisure to enjoy the amenities of the hotel. Breakfast and lunch included. Overnight in Lake Louise.
Day 5 – Lake Louise to Banff / Hiking in Yoho National Park
This morning the tour explores the western reaches of Alberta and eastern British Columbia as we pass over Kicking Horse Pass into Yoho National Park. We hike either to Yoho Lake, or if everyone is feeling energetic, we will hike the Iceline Trail. Afterwards return to Banff to relax and recharge in the evening. Breakfast and lunch included. Overnight in Banff.
Day 6 – Banff / Hiking in Banff National Park
Spend your final day of hiking in beautiful Banff National Park and to the lush Healy Meadows, or the captivating landscapes of Sunshine or Larch Valley. We return to Banff to enjoy a final night on the town with your new found friends and celebrate your adventures walking in the Canadian Rockies. Breakfast and lunch included. Overnight in Banff.
Day 7 – Banff - End of Tour
The group finishes with breakfast together in the morning for final farewells as the tour comes to an end. Breakfast included.Want to alter anything?
