The hotel is opposite a retail park which has several restaurants and stores, and the town centre is just five minutes by car, with a good range of shopping opportunities, from modern shopping centres to the quaint boutiques of downtown, as well as many charming cafes and restaurants.
There are a great variety of hiking trails nearby, including several in Peterson Creek Park with a pretty waterfall, the Rivers Trail which follows the banks of the Thompson River through the town parks and beyond, and the well-marked trails through the forest and grasslands of Kenna Cartwright Park, with fantastic views over Kamloops.
