The Big White village is just a few minutes away, offering good shopping in the Village Centre Mall as well as other stores and restaurants.
The Okanagan Valley is known for its vineyards, and the region has over 100 in total. Their regulated green fields are a beautiful contrast to the rugged mountain landscapes, and many are open for tours and wine-tasting.
An hour from Big White is the city of Kelowna on the shores of Lake Okanagan which has some fantastic shopping and lovely beaches with plenty of watersports on offer, as well as several engaging museums and galleries.
