A charming boutique hotel in downtown Montréal, The Chateau Versailles was originally four separate townhouses, giving it a lovely welcoming style.
Rooms are grand and the touches of rich gold and blue coupled with the chandeliers and high ceilings lend it a real castle feel.
In keeping with the old-world charm, the hotel has no lifts, just stairs. There is a small fitness room and a breakfast room, Le Boudoir, which also serves afternoon tea and cookies.
Guests are welcome to dine at gourmet restaurant Ridi – in sister hotel Meridien-Versailles, just across the street.

In the area
The hotel is located on Sherbrooke Street, traditionally Montreal’s most prestigious street - and still home to many of the most upscale shops and many galleries and fine restaurants.
A few minutes from the hotel you will find The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, and a block west is Mount Royal Park, with its beautiful lakes and tree lined walkways. Walk up Mount Royal for a fantastic view of the city – and maybe reward yourself with a coffee and cake from the cafe at the top.
A block to the east of the hotel is the more commercial shopping and dining street of Sainte-Catherine.
