Day 1 Vancouver – Parksville (75 km Land only)
After landing in Vancouver and collecting your hire car, head North out of the city for your ferry crossing to Vancouver Island and the short drive to the wonderful Tigh-Na-Mara seaside spa resort. Set in 22 acres of tranquil Arbutus and Douglas fir forest with sweeping panoramic views of the Strait of Georgia and the coastal mountains, you will feel instantly relaxed at this beach front hotel.
Day 2 Parksville – Sonora Resort (120 km Land only)
Enjoy the scenic drive up to Campbell river, where you will meet your water taxi for the 75 minute ride through the waterways of the Inside passage to Sonora resort, a Relais and Chateaux property. Offering a magical coastal setting in the wilds of British Columbia, this fantastic resort comes with 5 star accommodation, gourmet dining and a spectacular spa but it is the location and the chance to ‘get away from it all’ and enjoy the wilderness that draws you to Sonora.
Day 3 Sonora Resort
After a hearty breakfast head out for a 1 hour nature eco-tour on board a zodiac boat, where you will be accompanied by a local guide. On this extraordinary tour, you will receive a fascinating commentary while viewing wildlife in its natural habitat. There are some beautiful hiking trails to discover, salmon fishing trips and guided bear watching trips, all of which can be arranged to enhance your stay.
Day 4 Sonora Resort – Courtenay (50 Km Land only)
Spend your last morning at Sonora resort exploring the area further or just relaxing in one of the many lounges before returning to Campbell River after lunch, where you will collect your car. Taking the coastal road South make a stop at Saratoga beach, considered by many to be one of the ultimate stretches of shimmering sand, especially when the tide goes out over a quarter of a mile. Finish your day at the Kingfisher Oceanside resort, where you can enjoy ocean views and savour some of the finest local seafood sourced in the surrounding waters.
Day 5-6 Courtenay – Tofino (225 km)
Leaving the East coast behind, you cross the stunning mountain interior to the hip resort of Tofino and your home for the next couple of nights, Long beach Lodge. As its name suggests the hotel sits on a 1.5km of stretch of sand, considered one of the best surfing beaches in North America. Whether you want to try your hand at riding the waves, there is a surf school at the hotel, or just want to kick back, relax and enjoy the view from the floor to ceiling windows in the Great Room, this hotel is a winner.
Day 7 - 8 Tofino – Vancouver (230 km Land only)
Leaving the thundering waves of the pacific ocean behind, enjoy your final views of this magnificent island as you make your way to Nanaimo for the ferry journey back to the mainland and your overnight stays in the city of Vancouver.
