Summer is an amazing time to visit the wilds Churchill, in Northern Manitoba, known as the ‘accessible artic’. As the temperature rises after the cold winter, the polar bears leave the melting ice and head to dry land and 60,000 Beluga whales fill the Hudson Bay. This five day adventure gives you opportunity to see polar bears, get up close to the beluga whales and to look for other artic wildlife including seals, artic hare and artic fox.

Day 1 Fly from London to Toronto/Winnipeg
Upon arrival into Toronto International Airport, head straight for your internal flight to Winnipeg airport transfer to your overnight hotel for a restful evening.
Day 2 Winnipeg – Churchill
After breakfast, board the hotel shuttle to the airport for a morning flight to Churchill. A Lazy Bear Lodge guide will meet you upon arrival at Churchill Airport and escort you to the lodge where you check in and meet your hosts for the next five days. After settling into your room, embark on a Cultural and Heritage Tour, which takes you to Churchill and the surrounding area where you will be exploring various historic sites. These include Cape Merry, an outside tour of the polar bear holding facility known as the ‘Polar bear jail’, the wreckage of the famous plane, “Miss Piggy”, and many other historic sites that make Churchill the town it is today. This afternoon you are free to explore Churchill further, maybe the Eskimo Museum or some of the unique shops.
Day 3 Churchill
Today is a special day as you depart on a full-day Hudson Bay Coastal Tour by boat to see the polar bears along the coast of Hudson Bay and other local river estuaries. These magnificent creatures can be seen in these areas, swimming in the water or cooling off on the rocks. A day of fun and learning is complemented by lunch served on board during the tour.
Day 4 Churchill
The fun continues as you take to the waves again on a 3-hour Beluga Whale Boat Tour in search of the ivory-coloured beluga whales. Lazy bear lodge use custom built boats that include a front drop down deck that can be lowered, enabling you to see the whales from water level without getting wet. Also included in your day is a walking tour of the historic Prince of Wales Fort, giving you a taste of the region’s past days.
Day 5 Churchill
Get a taste of a Winter visit on the 3-hour Tundra Tour which will allow you to experience the Arctic Crawler™. You will head out to explore the beauty of the tundra, the flora and fauna and possibly spot some of the various wildlife in the comfort of a specially constructed all-terrain vehicle. Back at the Lodge, after a delectable supper, wrap up warm, step outside and you will possibly see the Northern Lights dancing across the sky.
Day 6 Churchill – Winnipeg
Spend your final morning on an optional tour or relax around the lodge before the Lazy Bear lodge shuttle take you to Churchill airport for the return flight back to Winnipeg.
Day 7 Fly from Winnipeg/Toronto to London
After a hearty breakfast, checkout of your room and make your way to Winnipeg airport for your flight home via Toronto International Airport with a bag full of polar bear and beluga whale memories.Want to alter anything?
