Flights to Vancouver from Glasgow stop over in Toronto and operate from March to October, with several departures a week in summer.

Glasgow Airport is located to the west of Glasgow and has plenty of parking onsite. This, combined with the airport's close proximity to the M74 and M80 motorways, makes it very easy to reach by road. Alternatively, you can travel by public transport either on-board the First 500 Glasgow shuttle or using one of the many buses.

Getting around Vancouver

When you arrive in Vancouver, there are many ways for you to get to the city centre. You can take advantage of Canadian Affair's excellent rates and hire a car. Alternatively, you could use the extensive public transport system including the Canada Line, courtesy shuttles, and Metro Vancouver, which will take you just about anywhere you want to go!

Car rental is located just outside the terminal and companies include National, Alamo, Avis, Hertz, Dollar, Thrifty and Budget.

Canada Line

Also known as the Sky Train, Vancouver’s rapid transit rail link connects the airport to downtown Vancouver in 25 minutes. It is affordable and easy to get to, located between the main International and Domestic terminals.

YVR Whistler SkyLynx

There are a number of bus services scheduled which can shuttle you between the airport and Whistler and Squamish along the Sea to Sky Corridor.

Hotel shuttles

Many hotels offer courtesy shuttle buses which provide transportation to your hotel. You can request a bus from the direct dial phones in Arrivals or from the shuttle pick up area outside the terminals.

Taxis

Fully licensed taxis can be found on Level 2 of Arrivals. Zone fares apply to specific zones in Vancouver or metered fares outside of those zones.

Sedans and limos

Aerocar Service is Vancouver airport’s licensed sedan and limousine provider.

Vancouver weather

Vancouver, by Canadian standards, is relatively warm in winter with temperatures rarely falling below freezing and with little to no snow. The summer months are pleasant and dry, but cooler compared to other Canadian cities, with summer temperatures averaging around 22°C at their hottest. The weather in Vancouver can also be wet, with November to March seeing the most rainfall, and July and August receiving the least. If your flight to Vancouver is in the spring or autumn, you will experience a true and defined season, rather than feeling the weather changing abruptly between winter and summer as in other regions.
