Day 1 Toronto to Algonquin Provincial Park
Your adventure begins with the Voyageur Quest shuttle van picking you up at your downtown Toronto hotel (pickup starts at 7 am, Toronto hotel not included). Arrive at Algonquin Log Cabin for a delicious patio lunch. Following your meal, you climb into the 7.92m Voyageur canoe for a lesson on the basics of this ancient craft before a leisurely paddle to Kitchie Island. We disembark and enjoy a fascinating guided interpretative hike. Boarding your canoes and returning to the cabin, the remainder of the afternoon is free to swim in the crystal-clear waters of the lake, use the sauna or just relax and unwind. The evening is welcomed by a delicious dinner followed by a twilight paddle to the songs of the loon and wolf. Overnight at the Algonquin Log Cabin. Lunch and dinner included.
Day 2 Algonquin Provincial Park
An edible wilds walk for breakfast will take you to Lookout Bluff, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Algonquin lakes. Lunch will be taken back at the lodge and the remainder of the afternoon can be spent at leisure. Perhaps you’d like to participate in a workshop on bush and woodcraft and various forms of traditional Canadian crafts. Later in the day, you paddle to a campfire point to watch the sunset, build a bonfire and have dinner. Learn about the northern sky as you watch the stars sparkle in the night above. Overnight at the Algonquin Log Cabin. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 3 Algonquin Provincial Park to Toronto – End of Tour
The optional sunrise paddle might give you the opportunity to surprise a sleepy moose having breakfast in the shallows by the shoreline (best wildlife viewing is in late June/early July). Your breakfast will be a tasty maple syrup cookout which you will savour on the return from moose viewing. The remainder of the morning will be spent in a Voyageur canoe exploring lakes with unique formation history, due to the Canadian Shield’s influence. Return to the lodge for a Canadian barbeque lunch before being transferred by Voyageur Quest van shuttle. The van arrives in Toronto at approximately 6pm. Breakfast and lunch included.
