The Canadian Economy Class

Economy Class offers true stretch-out comfort, complete with footrests and reclining seat backs.

By day enjoy the scenery from the large picture windows, stroll down the wide aisles, enjoy a meal in one of your designated dining facilities or purchase a snack and beverage offered at your seat or from the buffet counter.

At night, the seat area is your nest, with individual reading lights and Via Rail pillows and blankets.

Plus a warm and friendly mood always awaits you in the Skyline car for games or a casual meal, and you will definitely want to check out the 360 degree scenic dome.

The Canadian Sleeper Touring Class

Treat yourself to the legendary, all inclusive land cruise that has won the hearts as well as awards for its service. Sleeper Touring Class passengers enjoy the entire rear of the train, where cosy private rooms and semi-private compartments lead to the Park car with its intimate Mural lounge and wraparound windows of the Bullet lounge. On the upper level, passengers will find the 360 degree scenic dome.

Whether you choose a berth, a single, double or triple bedroom, there is a Skyline car nearby with its own scenic dome, a lounge and a gathering place with various activities where an Activity Coordinator holds court.

As a Sleeper Touring Class passenger, you enjoy pre-boarding privileges and priority baggage handling at major stations, comfortable sleeping quarters and access to a shower. Special touches include a shower kit, a duvet, a guest directory, 24 hour complimentary tea and coffee service and courteous staff attentive to your every need.

Breakfast, lunch and your evening meal are all freshly prepared by the on-board chef. Your fare includes all meals, and there is a selection of fine Canadian wines available for purchase.

Important Notes

Via Rail services are all non-smoking

As space is always restricted on the train, we would recommend that you take a small bag on board with the essentials that you need and check your remaining luggage through to your final destination.

The prices that we present are the super save fares, which must be booked 7 days before travel. There are additional discounts for seniors (60+), Students with an ISIC card and young people aged 12-17. Advance purchase is necessary.

Children 2-11 are eligible for 50% discount in comfort class and travel is FREE for children under 2 provided they are accompanied by an adult and do not take up a seat. A second infant travelling with just one adult pays 50% of the comfort class fare.

It is important to note that as the trains often travel through rugged and inaccessible terrain there may be occasional delays or freight trains may cause delay. Re-routing may be necessary at times by road. Via Rail does not pay compensation in this instance.
