Toronto has an incredible skyline, with the CN Tower, First Canadian Place and the TD Canada Trust Tower standing tall amongst the hustle and bustle of the city. These landmarks certainly look impressive from the ground, but they’re best enjoyed from one of the city’s rooftop bars.
Fortunately, Toronto has these in abundance. We heard from the CHASE Hospitality Group who shared their recommendations and what they think makes the perfect rooftop bar: " A combination of excellent culinary offerings, warm hospitality, a vibrant ambience and personable service — these are the elements that make up not just the perfect rooftop bar, but the ideal dining experience. Coincidentally, the CHASE Hospitality group offers this calibre of dining at its collection of Toronto Restaurants.
"If it’s your first time visiting Toronto, three rooftop bars are unmissable: Arthur’s Restaurant, Kasa Moto and The Chase. Located uptown, Arthur’s Restaurant’s octagonal rooftop terrace is not just architecturally striking, it also offers an unparalleled selection of classic cocktails and delightful noshes. In Yorkville, Kasa Moto’s sprawling rooftop terrace features Japanese-inspired and a locally-renowned vibrant, buzzy atmosphere. The Chase offers panoramic views of Toronto’s financial district with a North American contemporary menu and an ambience that embodies relaxed sophistication."
Sarah from the blog In Full Flavour also shared what she thinks makes the perfect rooftop hangout: "For me, the perfect rooftop bar combines a great atmosphere with a stunning view. Toronto has a really striking skyline and is such a vibrant city, it’s a great place to gaze upon while you’re sipping something special at a rooftop bar. The service is generally pretty friendly and relaxed in Toronto, which I find makes the experience even better."
From heated patios where you can snuggle up in the winter to chic, cosmopolitan options offering incredible views, discover some more of the best in this guide.
The Rooftop at The Broadview Hotel
After your flight to Toronto has landed, start your holiday with a crisp cocktail at The Broadview Hotel in Downtown Toronto.
“For me, the most important element of a perfect rooftop patio is the view,” shares Kasia from the travel blog, Kasia Writes. “Day or night, Toronto’s rooftops are a great way to admire the city, have a beverage and enjoy the vibe. There are plenty of patios to choose from for every occasion.”
The Broadview Hotel’s venue, The Rooftop, sits on their 7th floor and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Not only does the bar offer 360° panoramic glass windows, but an impressive pyramid roof means that the bar is also open year-round. For those who are wishing to end the night with sights of the glistening city, its uninterrupted views offer just that.
Although there is an expansive wine list available upon request, their cocktails are the way to go. With a fruity selection to choose from, they make the perfect accompaniment as you gaze over Lake Ontario. Pair with a bite to eat from their menu and you’re sure to have a fantastic evening.
Sky Yard at The Drake Hotel
The colourful and dynamic Sky Yard at The Drake Hotel in Downtown Toronto is the perfect place to visit if you’re looking to grab a drink and enjoy the views. Vibrant bursts of contrasting yellow and lilac decorate the eclectic rooftop which was designed by Louise Reiner. On the walls outside, you can find her fun illustrations, but for a more relaxed atmosphere, step inside.
We spoke to Aftab from the luxury travel and lifestyle blog, Fresh & Fearless, who told us a mix of views, cocktails and ambience makes the perfect rooftop bar. “Nothing beats getting together with a group of friends, sipping on an espresso martini as you watch the sky light up with an array of colours as the sunsets and transitions into a gorgeous balmy night.”
The Sky Yard offers a delicious menu and a number of drinks to match. Light lunchtime bites such as bagels and sandwiches make great pick-me-ups. You can also visit in the evening, where you can share plates of cheese, sushi and oysters while admiring the skyline.

Kost at BISHA
Rachel from the family lifestyle blog, Rachel Bustin told us that “a few years back we went on holiday to Canada, stopping off in Toronto, which has one of the most stunning skylines in North America.
