Getting around in Calgary
Calgary Airport has easy access to a number of different transport and transfer options after your flight, making your onward journey into Calgary and wider Canada simple. As part of the Calgary Transit, public buses run between Calgary Airport and the city centre and tickets are cheap. Route 300 is a rapid, limited-stop service to Downtown.
The Allied Downtown Shuttle Service runs every 30 minutes and can be pre-booked.
Many hotels in Calgary offer a courtesy shuttle service. Simply ring your hotel from the phones located at the bus bays to arrange pick up.
Various limousine options are available at Calgary airport.
Licensed taxi stands are located by Arrivals and offer reasonable rates into Calgary. Approximate fares are about $40-45 to downtown. More luxurious sedans are around 25% more expensive.

Calgary weather

Calgary has cold, snowy winters and hot summers with lots of sunshine. In winter, the skies in Calgary are usually clear and sunny and there is little rain, with warm Chinook winds from the Rockies bringing warmer days even in the winter. Calgary winters have lots of snow (around 88 days a year) which is perfect for skiing holidays in nearby Banff or Lake Louise. Average winter temperatures are around -7°C. The coldest month to visit Calgary is January, when temperatures can reach -20°C or colder.
Summers in Calgary are warm and clear, and the city has the most sun year-round of Canada’s 100 largest cities, averaging 332 days of sun! Average summer temperatures in Calgary are often mid-twenties or even over 30°C, with late sunsets and cool, pleasant evenings.
