The Algonquin Resort is an elegant hotel set atop a hill overlooking the coastal town of St. Andrews by-the-Sea. Rooms have been beautifully restored in a period style but also include all modern conveniences and amenities. First up are the Algonquin guest rooms, some of which are on higher floors and are available with a view of St Andrews and Passamaquoddy Bay beyond. Our favourite rooms are the Algonquin patio rooms, all of which feature a personal patio set above the iconic veranda at the front of the hotel, perfect for reading a book or watching the sunrise. More spacious studio rooms, featuring a full kitchenette, and junior, one bedroom and executive suites are available too Accessible rooms are also available. The hotel has a newly renovated spa offering everything from a simple manicure to a full body massage and many other treatments, plus a fully equipped fitness studio. If you fancy a dip there is an indoor pool - complete with a waterslide for the kids - and an outdoor swimming pool which is open seasonally. There is also a golf course and tennis courts near to the hotel. Complimentary Wi-Fi access is available throughout the hotel and the guestrooms. A hop on, hop off shuttle service runs from the hotel to the town and points of interest in between. In house dining is available at ‘Braxtons’ restaurant and bar, where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily and the menu changes seasonally.

The Algonquin Resort is a 10 minute walk from the centre of St. Andrews by-the-Sea but you can also take the complimentary shuttle if you don’t fancy the walk. With a good selection of artisan shops, art galleries and small boutiques, this is a lovely coastal town where you can enjoy warm summer days. Choose from one of the many restaurants and cafes offering the freshest catch of the day and enjoy an evening drink at a local watering hole; many offer live music throughout the week. Set on Passamaquoddy Bay, which leads to the Bay of Fundy, this is a hotspot for whale watching and there are plenty of operators to choose from down on the sea front. Don’t forget to visit Kingsbrae Gardens, an enchanting 11-hectare (27-acres) horticultural masterpiece featuring a real life Dutch windmill, alpacas, peacocks and one of the widest selections of flowers you will see anywhere.
