The rest of the day is free to explore the city, so head up the Calgary Tower for views over the prairies and distant Rocky Mountains and stroll down 8th Avenue with it’s historic buildings now converted into shops, bars and restaurants.

Calgary Stampede
Over the next two days we welcome you to the event most appropriately named “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth”. Included this afternoon is a ticket to the rodeo with gate admission. The best of the best saddle-up for a three-hour ground shaking showcase of world-class rodeo action. There are Saddle Bronco and Bareback riding events followed by the most dangerous event of all - Bull Riding but the excitement doesn’t stop there, check out the speed and timing of the barrel racing or the fun of the children’s sheep riding events.

Calgary Stampede
Enjoy the atmosphere as the whole city embraces Stampede fever, if you are feeling hungry why not attend one of the free Calgary Stampede Breakfasts that the city has become well known for. Great food and hospitality await! Later today return to Stampede Park for the Rangeland Derby, where in the evening, nine heart-stopping Chuckwagon races explode in an all-out dash for the finish line. Chuckwagon racing is an amazing contest of nerves and horsepower - a challenge that ignites thousands of fans. Following this enjoy the outdoor stage spectacular. For two hours, you will be dazzled by the lavishly produced and choreographed non-stop musical variety grandstand show, featuring elaborate song and dance numbers and acrobatics.

Banff
Pick up your hire car and head straight for the mountains! Your destination is the charming mountain town of Banff which is just 90 minutes away. Take time to explore the vibrant mountain town and surrounding National Park, there’s an endless list of outdoor activities to enjoy! Start by taking the Banff Gondola up to the top of Sulphur Mountain to enjoy incredible views of the 6 mountain ranges that surround the town and then stroll the riverside path to the beautiful Bow Falls. In the evening, relax in the thermal waters of the historic Banff Upper Hot Springs, a magical experience that has drawn visitors to Banff since 1886.

Icefields Parkway
Start the day with a visit to Lake Louise, one of the most photographed lakes in the world, before joining the Icefields Parkway, one of the most scenic highways in the world. Take your time driving this parkway, stopping at the many spectacular viewpoints at Bow Lake. Peyto Lake, The Big Bend and Panther Falls. Arrive in the afternoon at the Columbia Icefield, one of the largest accumulations of ice south of the Arctic Circle where you will spend the night at the Glacier View Lodge. This evening you will have an exclusive Ice Explorer tour, stepping out onto the Athabasca Glacier, before enjoying dinner at the Altitude Restaurant.

Icefields Parkway
After breakfast, join an exclusive tour to the Glacier Skywalk for unobstructed views of the Sunwapta Valley. Continue north on the Icefields Parkway, making a stop at the Athabasca Falls and at Mt Edith Cavell for a hike on the Path of the Glacier trail to see new growth alpine forest and spectacular views of Mt. Edith Cavell and the Angel Glacier. Take a ride on the Jasper Skytram and enjoy the views from the top of Whistlers Peak before finishing your adventure on the Icefields Parkway in the town of Jasper.

Jasper
You have two free days to explore Jasper and the surrounding national park. We recommend you drive to the famous Maligne Lake and cruise to Spirit Island, an iconic vista of the Canadian Rockies with distant jagged mountains providing the perfect backdrop. Along the way stop at the dramatic Maligne Canyon and viewpoint over Medicine Lake and be on the lookout for wildlife, Jasper is known for the herd of Elk that graze on the outskirts of town.

Robson, the tallest peak in the Canadian Rockies and make a stop in Blue River to join a River Safari in search of resident black bear. End the day at Sun Peaks, a small mountain resort where you can experience alpine hiking and wander through the pedestrian village filled with restaurants, cafés, shops, pubs and friendly locals.

Harrison Hot Springs
On todays drive, we recommend you follow the Trans-Canada Highway, and marvel as it weaves its way down the Fraser Canyon. An ideal place to stop is at Hell's Gate where an airtram takes you down into the canyon and you can experience the intense power of the Fraser River and learn about the many historic events that happened here. End the day in Harrison Hot Springs, a small village at the southern end of Harrison Lake famous for its healing hot springs.

You last day on the road will see you arrive in the coastal city of Vancouver. On the way stop at Fort Langley National Historic Site and discover the rich and varied history of this Hudson’s Bay Company fur trading post as you explore the rough-hewn timber buildings that recreate life in the 1800s. Arrive in the Vancouver and spend in the historic district of Gastown, which is home to fabulous restaurants, bars, and souvenir shops.
