Itinerary

Day 1 Fly to Toronto

Once you have arrived at Toronto Pearson independently make your way into downtown Toronto. Why not explore one of Toronto’s 13 boroughs or take in a harbour cruise and explore one of the 16 islands off Toronto’s downtown.

Day 2 Toronto

Explore one of Toronto’s most famous attractions, the CN Tower. For the more daring of you why not try the CN Tower’s Edgewalk, the world’s highest full circle, hands free walk on a 5ft wide ledge circling the top of the Tower 386m above the ground? After this take in the rest of the sights downtown has to offer such as the Distillery District for some Segway fun or Casa Loma for beautiful views of downtown from this romantic Gothic Revival style mansion. Day 3 - 4 Elmhirst's Resort

Collect your car & head 90 minutes east of Toronto to the beautiful colony of lakeside cottages on the north shore of Rice Lake. This truly is your first stop for outdoor adventure in Ontario. Options include flightseeing over the Kawarthas to a remote lake or riding a horse through the woods. Those looking for more adventurous activities can enjoy a day driving an ATV on a guided safari, water-skiing from the docks, kayaking around the island or landing a large trophy fish. The resort is all about sustainability and living off the land. Produce and livestock are all farmed on site using natural, sustainable methods. 2 nights Elmhirst's Resort

Day 5 Elmhirst's Resort to Kingston

Today make the 2 hours drive North East to Kingston, Ontario’s oldest town. Originated in 1673 as a fur trading station now historic limestone architecture and modern amenities adorn each corner. Stroll the city’s waterfront along Lake Ontario where it meets the St. Lawrence River. Overnight Kingston.

Day 6 Kingston

The British fortress of Fort Henry will open your eyes to the 19th century history that was once the first line of defence against the American invasion. Watch the regiment perform intricate drills and field manoeuvres during the spectacular Sunset ceremonies. Kingston also acts a gateway to the romantic 1000 Islands. Cruise the waterway of the St. Lawrence amongst the tree topped islets and larger islands with mansions, cottages and even castles with some dating back to the 19th century. Referred to by the Iroquois Nations as the ‘Garden of the Great Spirit’. The tranquillity of the area belies a history of adventurers, wars and rebellions. Overnight Kingston

Day 7 Kingston to Ottawa

Follow the Rideau Heritage Route on your drive between Kingston and Ottawa. A beautiful system of lakes, rivers and canals built in the 1800’s for military use. Today it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take lunch at one of the 24 scenic lock stations along the way prior to arriving in Canada’s Capital; Ottawa. Overnight Ottawa

Day 8 Ottawa

The capital sure has plenty to offer. Think parliament buildings, galleries and museums. Parliament Hill is one of Canada’s most iconic sites and a must see! Parliament Buildings stand tall on a hill overlooking the Ottawa River offering free tours year-round, and an opportunity to take in the views of Ottawa. For a taste of adventure why not book a rafting trip leaving form the picturesque Britannia Beach and take in spectacular and unique views of the city. Cycle along the historic Rideau Canal, which turns into the world’s largest ice rink each winter. Overnight Ottawa

Day 9 Ottawa to Pembroke

Follow the Ottawa Valley North West to the small city of Pembroke. Famous for white water rafting trips on the Ottawa River as well as a great gateway into Algonquin Provincial Park. Overnight Pembroke

Day 10 Voyaguer Quest Algonquin Log Cabin

Your true Ontario adventure starts today, meet at Algonquin Log Cabin at 12:30 at the northwest corner of Algonquin Park. The cabin itself is beautifully situated on the shores of Surprise Lake and can accommodate up to 12 guests. Offering comfortable amenities while preserving an interior décor that is simple and in harmony with nature. Enjoy a delicious patio lunch before climbing into the 7.92m canoe for a lesson the basics of this ancient craft before a leisurely paddle to Kitchie Island. You will then have the option to return to the Log Cabin to relax or continue your adventure by paddling to Otter Bay for an introduction to the boreal forest, beavers’ ponds and Canadian Shield. Disembark and enjoy a fascinating guided hike. Board the canoes back to the cabin and enjoy the remainder of the afternoon at leisure. Swim in the crystal-clear waters of the lake or make use of the sauna to relax and unwind. This evening enjoy dinner followed by a twilight paddle to the songs of the loon and wolf. Overnight at the Algonquin Log Cabin. Lunch and dinner included.

Day 11 Voyaguer Quest Algonquin Log Cabin

An edible wild walk for breakfast will take you to Lookout Bluff, where you can enjoy a breath-taking view of the Algonquin lakes. Lunch will be taken back at the lodge and the remainder of the afternoon can be spent at leisure. Perhaps you would like to participate in a workshop on bush and woodcraft and various forms of traditional Canadian crafts. Later in the day, you paddle to a campfire point to watch the sunset, build a bonfire and have dinner. Learn about the northern sky as you watch the stars sparkle in the night on the paddle to the lodge. Overnight Algonquin Log Cabin. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 12 Voyaguer Quest Algonquin Log Cabin to Blue Mountain

The optional sunrise paddle might give you the opportunity to surprise a sleepy moose having breakfast in the shallows by the shoreline. Your breakfast will be a tasty maple syrup cookout which you will savour on the return from moose viewing. The remainder of the morning will be spent in a Voyaguer canoe exploring the lakes with unique formation history, due to the Canadian Shield’s influence. Return to the lodge for a Canadian barbeque lunch before departing the cabin for Blue Mountain. Overnight Blue Mountain.

Day 13 Blue Mountain

season recreation destination. Hiking, biking, cycling, caving and golfing are all the agenda here. Take a Segway tour or ride the gondola for panoramic views of the resort. Blue Mountains lively pedestrianised village features accommodation, shopping, dining and entertainment, plus year-round festivals. Day 14 Blue Mountain to Niagara-on-the-Lake

The drive to Niagara on the Lake will take you around the Niagara Peninsula and through some truly spectacular country. There are over 90 wineries in the Niagara Region and local chefs insist on using the finest seasonal ingredients which makes for a gastronomic experience. Visit wineries along the Wine Route and sample Ontario’s renowned Icewine, a local speciality at Inniskillin Winery. Overnight Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Day 15 Niagara-on-the-Lake

Niagara-on-the-Lake is a charming town with British roots and home to unique art galleries and restaurants aplenty! Think Vintage Hotels, exquisite décor and luscious cuisine, Take the time to peruse the town itself or venture further out to Niagara Falls to view the magnificent falls up close. There is plenty to see and do within the area such as jetboating on the Niagara River on a Whirlpool Jet Boat Tour, a ride on the Hornblower cruises to get up close to the majesty of the falls, or a helicopter ride over the falls to get a full panoramic of this natural wonder. Overnight Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Day 16 Fly Home

Today say farewell to Ontario as you drive the shores of Lake Ontario back to Toronto Pearson for your flight home to the UK.
