Skiing in the Laurentians

The Laurentian mountains offer fantastic scenery and conditions, and Mont Tremblant is one of the highest peaks in the mountain range. The resort is consistently voted the best in Eastern North America. All four mountain faces offer excellent skiing, from Versant Sud and Versant Nord to Versant Soleil and the Edge. Every side of the mountain has a mixture of green, blue and black runs, but the leg burning glades of the Edge are best-loved by advanced skiers.

Tremblant Village

Tremblant Village is often dubbed the Disneyland of ski, in the best possible way. The cobbled streets and colourful, clapboard houses are undeniably charming. The village is car-free and almost all the accommodation is ski-in, ski-out. The little town is the perfect blend of French and Canadian, with fondue restaurants rubbing shoulders with waffle houses. Stats on runs & terrain

Tremblant's summit sits at 875 meters (2871 feet) and offers a breathtaking view over the Laurentians. The ski area covers 269 hectares (665 acres) and includes 96 ski trails on four distinct slopes with 14 lifts, for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. With over 1,000 snowguns, the ski station is one of the most sophisticated and powerful snowmaking systems in North America.

Runs for all levels

Tremblant is especially good for family and mixed-ability groups, as each mountain face has a nice mixture of runs. Beginners are able to ski from almost all of the lifts, which makes the mountain very accessible. There is still plenty of challenging terrain for expert skiers:

Ski lessons

Tremblant boasts an excellent ski school, but it's not just for beginners! A wide range of skill levels could benefit from booking a day or two of ski lessons. The instructors will explain all the runs and ski areas to you as well as take you to hidden parts of the mountain. You also enjoy priority lift boarding when you are with an instructor. The service is particularly welcoming for kids.

This will soon become the most enjoyable activity you didn't know you were missing in your life! For those who haven't come across e-fat biking before (and we suspect there are a few!), it's essentially riding an electrically-assisted bike with extra wide tires that are specially adapted for the snow. It's a thrilling and fun way to discover the beauty of the region, whether you choose a shorter tour through Domaine Saint-Bernard or a longer tour along the Devil's River.

Opening and closing dates

The winter 2018/2019 ski season in Tremblant was from 22nd November 2018 to 22nd April 2019. As with many resorts in Canada, it's a long season which means you have a huge choice of dates for your ski holiday in Tremblant. This latest season boasted a new high-speed quad chairlift, new glades and a renovation of the main chalet at the summit. Give us a call before you book to double check the mountain's open dates.

When to ski in Tremblant

The Tremblant ski season usually runs from November to April. January and February typically see the best powder days. If you’re heading here early to mid season, bear in mind that the temperatures can get pretty chilly in this area of Canada. Pack warm layers and make the most of the ski-in, ski-out access and on-mountain hot chocolate! The February half term falls at a different time to UK holidays, so make the most of it!

Average snowfall

On average there's over 5m of snowfall annually in Tremblant. There is typically over a metre of snow in February and March. However, even if the snow does happen to be light, 1,164 snowguns means a huge snowmaking capacity has you covered. This part of the world can often be chilly than other areas of Canada, so layer up. The snow can be a little icy at times but is generally very good, and the runs are well groomed.

Unmissable events

There is plenty going on in Tremblant, both on and off the slopes. From around 22nd December to 6th January, the festive spirit of the holidays takes over! Join in activities like Lumberjack Day and 1980s winter. The FIS Freestyle Ski Moguls World Cup takes place around 26th January. Around 8-10th February, the Festival Rando Alpine promises three days of alpine fun, with forest adventures and a fondue dinner up Mont Tremblant. From 24th March to 21st April, Spring Musical Performances pops up in Place Saint-Bernard every weekend.
