Anchorage
Upon arrival in Alaska’s largest city, collect your rental car and head to Blue Water Base Camp. Nestled in the mountains above Anchorage, it is the perfect base for travellers looking for nature near a major city. The lodge offers easy access to lakes, trails, waterfalls, Matanuska Glacier, Hatcher Pass and Anchorage. Included as part of your holiday is the 11-hour Lake Clark National Park bear viewing. At four million acres, the Park encompasses volcanoes, jagged mountains, glaciers, wild rivers, waterfalls, and diverse wildlife. Enjoy a stunning 70-minute flightseeing tour via floatplane into the park landing at Redoubt Mountain Lodge. Upon arrival, meet a knowledgeable bear viewing guide who will then escort you to a covered pontoon boat taking you to areas where bears feed on wild Alaska salmon.
Alyeska Resort
Nestled in a lush valley, surrounded by mountain peaks, glaciers and ocean views, Alyeska Resort is Alaska’s premier year-round destination. The resort offers fine dining, a saltwater pool, bike park and Nordic Spa as well as access to plenty of walking trails making it perfect for relaxation and adventure. The Alyeska Aerial Tram offers stunning views of the Chugach Mountain Range and Turnagain Arm from the top of Mount Alyeska.
Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge
Make the drive 1-hour south to the town of Seward where you will embark on a leisurely 5-hour sightseeing cruise & scenic transfer of Resurrection Bay as you make your way to the remote Fox Island. Passing jagged cliffs and alpine glaciers this scenic cruise transfer offers opportunities to view seabirds and marine wildlife. Upon arrival at Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge, the rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the amenities of the lodge. A National Park Ranger will deliver a fascinating presentation about the area and its wildlife whilst you enjoy a delicious lunch. Throughout your stay at Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge all meals will be included.
Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge
Accessible only by boat, Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge is the only accommodation on the remote Fox Island. All cabins offer views of the ocean or freshwater lagoon. Partake in self-guided walks through luscious forest and make use of the paddle boards and canoes to explore more of the lagoon. After a day exploring this beautiful island head over to the wood-fired sauna to fully relax. Guests have the option to prebook the Fox Island kayak tour for a full day guided kayaking experience. Observe colonies of Puffins along the cliff edges and marvel at sea lions and seals as you explore rocky coves.
Seward
Today you depart the lodge for your return boat cruise to Seward. You will depart after breakfast at 09:15 for the 9-hour Northwestern Fjord Tour. This narrated full-day cruise travels to three tidewater glaciers with the prospect of wildlife at every turn. An onboard lunch is included as you explore the rugged passage with its seabird rookeries that dot the islands. The tour arrives back in Seward in early evening.
Fly Home
Today you make your way back to Anchorage Airport for your flight home. Keep a look out for Dall Sheep and Beluga Whales as you drive the spectacular Turnagain Arm.
