Vancouver
Arrive at Vancouver International Airport and transfer independently to your hotel. Vancouver is the perfect year-round destination and as such there are endless activities and sightseeing throughout the year. Visit Grouse Mountain, Vancouver’s most popular attraction and the only true four-season destination. Featuring a wildlife refuge, thrilling outdoor adventures and summer and winter activities aplenty.
Whitehorse
Head to Vancouver Airport for your internal flight to Whitehorse. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by a local representative of Northern Tales Travel Services, who will welcome you to the Yukon and transfer you to your hotel. Once you have checked in, you will receive an orientation meeting describing what to expect during your stay. The rest of the day is yours until your first evening viewing of the Aurora Borealis. The Aurora Borealis, commonly known as the Northern Lights, is a spectacle of magnetic and electrical charges in the air, colouring the sky a multitude of majestic hues. Tonight is your first chance to view this spectacular show. Departing the hotel at 22:00 in groups, you will be taken to a prime viewing area and treated to snacks and hot drinks during your viewing. Contemplate the sublime beauty of this fascinating array of blues, reds, greens and violets in this idyllic setting as you relax in a cozy heated cabin or walled tent. Return to the hotel at approximately 02:30.
Whitehorse
On the morning of day 2 you are treated to a tour of the scenic city of Whitehorse, a former gold rush settlement set against a stunning backdrop of mountains. Discover the highlights of this town such as Main Street, the Train Depot of White Pass, Log Skyscraper, Log Church, the Sternwheeler SS Klondike, fish ladders and Schwatka Lake. Take the opportunity to relax in the warm comfort of the hotel, or book one of the many optional activities. This evening you will have another opportunity to view the Aurora Borealis. While waiting for the lights to appear, guests are invited to sit at a roaring bonfire and roast marshmallows.
Whitehorse
Once again you have time at your leisure, book an optional activity such as dogsledding. This 2-hour tour will allow guests to explore the beautiful backcountry by dogsled. Take in the amazing views of the Fish Lake Area and learn about the dogsledding history and life as a musher both then and now. Visit a race checkpoint and a prospector cabin before enjoying the roar of a campfire while roasting treats and sipping on tea or hot chocolate. This evening head out again to view the Aurora Borealis. Chat with the local guides to learn more.
Whitehorse
For your final full day in the Yukon, we recommend booking another option activity such as ice fishing, flightseeing, or snowshoeing to fully immerse yourself. The activities vary in length from 3 hours to full day sightseeing. Tonight is your last opportunity to marvel at the dance of the lights above, again whilst waiting for the lights to appear you can try out snow shoeing or tobogganing on a small hill nearby.
Vancouver
Check out of your hotel and you will be transferred to Whitehorse Airport. On arrival at Vancouver International Airport transfer independently to your hotel. Once again you take the opportunity to explore this beautiful city on Canada’s Pacific Coast. Head to Vancouver’s North Shore to explore Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. Stretching 137 metres across a canyon with the Capilano River 70 meters below the Capilano Suspension Bridge is a must do when visiting. Explore the lush fir and fern carpeted forests throughout the park via the Treetops Adventure and Cliffwalk.
Fly home
Your Canadian adventure has come to an end. Squeeze in some last sightseeing prior to heading to the airport. The Flyover Canada Experience in a great add on and a thrilling way to end your trip. This immersive experience has you soaring coast to coast across Canada. Throughout the year the experience will feature themes such as their Santa and Halloween themed flyovers. Transfer independently to Vancouver International Airport for your flight home.
