Day 1
Toronto
Arrive in Toronto and transfer independently to your airport hotel. Depending on your flight times, spend the day exploring some of downtown’s highlights such as the CN Tower and the bustling St. Lawrence Market. Take a walk along the Harbourfront or enjoy a casual dinner in the Distillery District. If time permits, catch a Blue Jays game or explore Queen Street West’s shops and street art. Toronto’s energy offers a perfect urban contrast before heading into nature.
Day 2-3
Haliburton
Drive north into the stunning Haliburton Highlands. This scenic region is rich with lakes, forests, and outdoor adventure. Visit the Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve and paddle serene lakes, or hike one of their many trails. The Wolf Centre and Canopy Walk are must-sees during your stay. Spend your days kayaking, fishing, or exploring artisan shops and cafés in the village. Evening campfires under the stars make for a perfect wilderness escape and you will have time to embrace cottage country charm.
Day 4
Bancroft
Head east to Bancroft, Ontario’s mineral capital. This small town is nestled in the Canadian Shield and is known for its geology, rugged beauty, and outdoor recreation activities. Stop at the Bancroft Mineral Museum, explore nearby trails or stroll through local shops and cafés. Bancroft offers a quieter, more laid-back vibe than larger towns so enjoy a calm evening before heading deeper into the Ottawa Valley.
Day 5-6
Madawaska Kanu Centre
Welcome to the Madawaska Kanu Centre, where your whitewater adventure begins. Over the next two days, the Zero to Hero program teaches you essential kayaking or rafting skills on the beautiful Madawaska River. Led by expert instructors, you will progress from calm water techniques to manageable rapids. This immersive program is a highlight for adventure seekers and a great bonding experience for couples and families alike.
Day 7
Bonnechere
Travel northeast to Bonnechere Provincial Park, a serene natural haven near the Ottawa Valley. Known for its sandy beach and accessible forest trails, this park is perfect for swimming, paddling, and wildlife watching. Visit the nearby Bonnechere Caves for a fascinating tour through ancient limestone formations, great for families and geology enthusiasts. Bonnechere offers a relaxing night between high-energy adventures, letting you reconnect with nature in peaceful surroundings before your next exciting stop at OWL Rafting.
Day 8-9
OWL Rafting
Arrive at OWL Rafting on the Ottawa River for two days of soft adventure and fun. Experience guided whitewater rafting tailored to beginners and families, with expert instruction and top-notch safety. Should you wish to upgrade to a more challenging experience, this is also an option. Between runs, enjoy delicious meals served on a pontoon boat and the resort also features hot tubs and campfire evenings. OWL Rafting offers one of Ontario’s most unique outdoor experiences, which will be unforgettable.
Day 10-11
Perth
Travel southwest to the charming heritage town of Perth. Known for its 19th-century stone architecture, Perth offers a relaxing break in a storybook setting. Stroll the downtown core, explore artisan shops, and dine by the river. Visit nearby pretty Smiths Falls, cycle along the nearby Rideau Trail or enjoy a day trip to nearby Murphy’s Point Provincial Park for hiking and swimming.
Day 12
Bon Echo
Bon Echo Provincial Park is one of Ontario’s most spectacular natural destinations. The park’s highlight is Mazinaw Rock, a 100-metre cliff rising from Mazinaw Lake, adorned with ancient Indigenous pictographs. Paddle beneath it by canoe or kayak or alternatively hike the Cliff Top Trail for panoramic views. Whether you are exploring the forested trails or stargazing from your campsite, Bon Echo’s rugged beauty and cultural significance make it a must-see on any Ontario road trip.
Day 13-14
Keene
Wrap up your RV journey in Keene, a peaceful village near Rice Lake. Enjoy fishing, boating, or birdwatching in this lush region of rolling farmland and lakes. Nearby Petroglyphs Provincial Park offers a sacred site with Indigenous rock carvings and a tranquil hiking experience. Close to nature but full of history and rural charm, Keene is perfect for relaxing at the end of your adventure. Make sure to visit nearby Peterborough and the Canadian Canoe Museum.
Day 15
Fly Home
Sadly, your adventure comes to an end. Drive back to Toronto and drop off your motorhome before transferring independently to the airport. Depending on your flight times, you may be able to store your luggage at the airport and venture into downtown to spend a few hours in Toronto before your overnight journey home.
