When is the best time to ski in Revelstoke?

Although the ski season in Revelstoke typically starts at the end of November, it is not until January-February when the accumulation of snow peaks and you can find the deepest base depths and the legendary up to 6 to 10 metres of snow. This is the prime time for heli, cat and tree skiing at the resort. The peak season, between Christmas and New Year and February though attracts the most crowds, and accommodation and lift ticket prices are usually at their highest.

Revelstoke primarily caters for advanced to expert skiers and snowboarders seeking steep and challenging terrain and deep snow. Powder hounds can enjoy above the average snowfall of 10.5 m per year, due to the resort’s unique location within an inland rainforest. Revelstoke also boasts the longest vertical drop in North America (1,713 metres) meaning long, continuous and steep runs and uninterrupted skiing experience. From 75 runs in total, 34 are single and double-black diamonds featuring steep pitches, technical chutes, challenging couloirs, and cliffs. There are also 4 alpine bowls.

The intermediate terrain accounts for 43% of the total skiable area but is rather suitable for confident intermediate skiers. If you are visiting on a ski holiday to Revelstoke with friends or family who are beginners, they can still learn at the resort, as there are dedicated areas for novice skiers fitted with 2 magic carpets, Little Bit and CupCake.
