About Jamie Barrow

Hello! My name is Jamie Barrow. I am age 22 and was on the British Snowboard Cross Team since age 15, competing on the FIS and Europa Cup circuit since I was 16. I was British Youth Snowboard Cross Champion 2008, and I have been British Junior Snowboard Cross Champion in 2009, 2010 and 2011. In 2011 I also won the British Universities Indoor Snowboard Championships. In 2010 I was Bank Santander / Bath University Sportsman Fresher of the Year and in 2012 i graduated from the University of Bath with a B.Sc. in Sports Performance. I am a Sky Sports Living For Sport Athlete Mentor, working with Youth Sport Trust. I make regular public appearances, speeches and presentations to adult and student groups. In January 2013 i unfortunately had a serious injury which resulted in me having to drop out the british team. Not wanting to give up even though my injury could not be fixed i still wanted to push myself as much as i can and I recently became Britain’s Fastest Snowboarder by reaching a speed of 151.6kph (94.2mph). I will keep pushing myself as much as i can and i am already planning more speed records, to attempt to break the 100mph barrier, and to do things that no one has ever done before.
