Halifax
Arrive at Halifax Stanfield International Airport, and transfer independently to your downtown hotel. You now have time to explore this maritime city. Visit the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site and then take a stroll on the harbourfront boardwalk where you'll find several interesting museums such as the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 amd the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. The harbourfront is a great place to spend the evening, fresh seafood restaurants and lively pubs await!
VIA Rail to Québec City
Board VIA Rail’s ‘The Ocean’ and depart early afternoon to Québec City. You will spend the night on board the train and arrive the next morning giving you time to explore this historic city. We recommend you wander the cobblestone streets of the Old City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the only fortified city on the continent north of Mexico. Explore the shops and marina of Old Port, and soak in the atmosphere of the Plains of Abraham and Parliament Hill.
VIA Rail to Montréal
Departing on VIA Rail’s ‘Corridor’ service to Montréal, you will follow the shoreline of the St. Lawrence River, Canada’s busiest waterway. When exploring Montréal there is no better place to start than in the historic Old Town, home to the Notre-Dame Basilica, which is one of the most beautiful Catholic churches in Canada. The city has a vibrant food scene, and no visit is complete without enjoying a Montréal Smoked Meat sandwich, smoky and peppery brisket typically served on rye bread, this sandwich has placed the city on world food map.
VIA Rail to Toronto
Travel through the small townships of Québec and Ontario en route to Canada’s largest city, Toronto. One of the top attractions is the CN Tower, a world-famous icon and iconic feature of Toronto’s skyline. Ascend the tower to enjoy unparalleled, panoramic views of the city and Lake Ontario. From the downtown harbour, cruises set sail to explore the Toronto’s bustling Western Harbour and the Toronto Islands, out in Lake Ontario.
Fly Home
After some last-minute shopping and sight-seeing, your rail adventure in Eastern Canada has come to an end. Transfer independently to Toronto Pearson International Airport for your flight home.
