Vancouver
Arrive at Vancouver International Airport and transfer independently to your downtown hotel. The next day is yours to explore this enchanting coastal city. Take a stroll round Stanley Park, head over to Granville Island to discover a world of food, art and culture or take a shuttle bus over to the North Shore and the famous Capilano Suspension Bridge, hanging 70 metres over the Capilano River.
Rocky Mountaineer to Whistler
Travel on board Rocky Mountaineer to the mountain town of Whistler. Travel through the stunning Sea to Sky Corridor, with views over Howe Sound, the Coast Mountains and Brandywine Falls. From inside Rocky Mountaineer's signature glass dome carriages you won't miss a thing! You'll arrive in the early afternoon meaning you have plenty of time to explore Whistler at your own leisure.
Rocky Mountaineer to Quesnel
Your journey continues eastwards towards the charming rural town of Quesnel. Enjoy breath-taking and varied scenery as you travel through the river canyons and lush farmland of the Pemberton Valley, the desert-like conditions of the Fraser Canyon, to the rolling hills and vast ranchlands of the Cariboo Plateau.
Rocky Mountaineer to Jasper
Back on board Rocky Mountaineer, you will continue eastwards towards the majestic Canadian Rockies. Travelling initially through the forests of British Columbia you will begin to see the mountains rise steeply above you. The pinnacle is Mount Robson, which at 3,954 metres is the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies.
Jasper
Today you have a free day in Jasper to explore the surrounding national park and its majestic scenery. We recommend you book an excursion to nearby Maligne Lake and cruise to Spirit Island, an iconic vista of the Canadian Rockies with distant jagged mountains providing the perfect backdrop. On the outskirts of Jasper and easily reached by local transport are lakes such as Pyramid Lake, where you can hire a canoe, and Lake Annette, with its enticing beach. In the evening take a stroll in downtown Jasper and take your pick from the many different restaurants, bistros, and bars on offer. Look out for wildlife, Jasper is known for the herd of Elk that graze on the outskirts of town.
Icefields Parkway
Travel from Jasper to Banff on one of the most scenic highways in the world, the Icefields Parkway. After a photo stop at Athabasca Falls, you will stop at the Columbia Icefield, one of the largest accumulations of ice south of the Arctic Circle and one of the most accessible icefields in North America. Here you will ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier and learn about its geological features before stepping out on to the Glacier Skywalk for unobstructed views of the Sunwapta Valley. Lunch is provided at the Columbia Icefield Glacier Discovery Centre. Afterwards, a brief stop will be made at Bow Lake before arriving in Banff in the afternoon.
Banff
Today you have a free day in the charming mountain town of Banff to explore the surrounding national park and its majestic scenery. Consider taking a day trip to nearby Lake Louise, to enjoy iconic views of the turquoise lake with the mountains and Victoria Glacier in the distance. Downtown Banff is the ideal place for gift shopping and has many different restaurants and bistros to choose from for your evening meal. After all the excitement of the last few days, spend the evening relaxing in the thermal waters of the historic Banff Upper Hot Springs, a magical experience that has drawn visitors to Banff since 1886.
Calgary
Today you will enjoy a full day sightseeing transfer to Calgary. Start by taking the Banff Gondola up to the top of Sulphur Mountain to enjoy incredible views of the 6 surrounding mountain ranges that surround the town then enjoy a tour of Banff, including Bow Falls, Surprise Corner, and the Hoodoos. After free time for lunch, enjoy a cruise on Lake Minnewanka before leaving the mountains behind and taking the journey down to Calgary. End the day with a stroll down 8th Avenue, lined with historic buildings that now house an array of restaurants and bars.
Fly Home
After some last-minute shopping and sight-seeing, your epic Canadian adventure has come to an end. Transfer independently to Calgary International Airport for your flight home.
