Day 1
Calgary
Arrive at Calgary International Airport, pick up your hire car and head downtown for a 1-night stay at Fairmont Palliser. This timeless icon in the heart of Calgary downtown has been welcoming guests for over 110 years, and offers locally-inspired dining, a health club and spa sanctuary. The hotel effortlessly blends understated opulence with modern comforts.
Day 2
Banff
Today has you leaving the stampede city of Calgary and heading west to the spectacle of the Rocky Mountains. Visit Bow Falls and Two Jack Viewpoint, which is close to Lake Minnewanka where cruises sail the cool blue waters in the summer. End the day at the Fairmont Banff Springs, known for its Scottish baronial castle architecture and its deep-rooted Canadian Pacific Railway history, where you will spend 3 nights.
Day 3
Banff
The Fairmont’s location at the base of Rundle Mountain makes it a perfect location to kick start your day on the Banff Gondola, which takes you up Sulphur Mountain to enjoy breathtaking views over Banff and the surrounding mountain ranges. Spend the afternoon in downtown Banff, perusing the many museums, art galleries and boutiques. Back at the Fairmont Banff Springs unwind in the blissful sanctuary of the Fairmont Spa to recreate the nostalgia of yesteryear when visitors would be drawn to town by the natural hot springs.
Day 4
Banff
A further day in Banff gives you more time to relax and take in your majestic surroundings. The mountain town offers a diverse food scene from cozy intimate bistros to elegant dining rooms in grand hotels. In addition, the Fairmont Banff Springs also offers an expertly designed golf course with stunning mountain views.
Day 5
Lake Louise
Journey up to Lake Louise, on the Bow Valley Parkway, stopping at viewpoints over Morant’s Curve and Castle Mountain and taking a walk at Johnstone Canyon to see spectacular waterfalls. Upon arrival in Lake Louise why not lunch at the iconic Fairview restaurant at a table overlooking one of the most photographed lakes in the world. The floor to ceiling windows frame stunning views of Victoria Glacier and the restaurant’s art deco style solidifies the restaurant as a top dining spot in Lake Louise. Overnight at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, featuring a European Alpine design which showcases the history of the Swiss mountaineers that made these mountains home.
Day 6
Field
Located in Yoho National Park, Cathedral Mountain Lodge is the perfect getaway for those looking for adventure but with a touch of luxury. Award winning dining and incredible service simply solidifies its luxury status. When it comes to things to do, Cathedral Mountain Lodge has you covered, think complimentary canoeing on the turquoise waters of Moraine Lake, hiking the various trail heads around the lodge including Takkakaw and Laughing Falls or horse riding through the dramatic mountain scenery. There is an array of activities to dive in to.
Day 7
Vernon
Today you leave the soaring Rocky Mountain peaks for the rolling valleys and hills of British Columbia’s Okanagan region. Strikingly different in comparison, you will find endless green hills, desert spaces and countless vineyards. Upon arrival at the 4-Diamond resort of Sparkling Hill, your wellness experience will begin. Exclusive only to adults and offering luxurious guest rooms as well as the signature KurSpa the resort will soon have you in a state of complete luxury, peace and self-care.
Day 8
Vernon
Set in the heart of Okanagan, Vernon offers an array of activities from sampling the grapes at one of the many vineyards, to walking one of the many trails that has earned them the title of ‘Trails Capital of BC’. The streets of Vernon will find you immersed in vibrant arts and culture; from galleries to historic tours and museums there is plenty to inspire the mind.
Day 9
Whistler
As you make your way through the heart of British Columbia towards Whistler we highly recommend a stop at BC Wildlife Park. Home to nearly 200 animals and 65 different species including cougars, bears, wolves and reptiles, this rehabilitation centre for orphaned and injured wildlife encourages appreciation and respect for British Columbia’s wildlife and assists in research and captive breeding programs. Upon arrival in Whistler check in to the Fairmont Chateau Whistler which combines classic elegance and a modern alpine setting.
Day 10
Whistler
As British Columbia’s most iconic mountain destination, Whistler has a plethora of outdoor activities to match any type of character. Whistler has everything for everyone from hitting the fairway at one of the four world class golf courses, to biking the trails of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains, spending warm summer days on clear mountain lakes, to soaring through the alpine via zipline. Every visitor is covered. Spend the lazy summer evenings eating and drinking your way through Whistler’s eclectic food and drink scene.
Day 11
Victoria
The 6-hour drive today takes you through perhaps one of the most beautiful highways in Canada. As you head south towards the ferry terminal you will hug the spectacular Howe Sound with the towering peaks of the coastal mountains on the other side. Stop at the Sea to Sky Gondola to enjoy the views from one of the many viewing platforms or suspension bridge before continuing to Horseshoe Bay. The 1 hour 40 minute journey to Nanaimo offers opportunities for wildlife spotting as well as enjoying the views of the coastal mountains and inlets. The sheer beauty of Malahat Drive enroute to Victoria is best experienced from the Malahat Skywalk; climb the Spiral Tower, wander the elevated TreeWalk through ancient Douglas Fir and Arbutus or race down the Spiral Slide. Upon arrival in Victoria check in to the iconic Fairmont Empress, renowned for its afternoon tea.
Day 12
Victoria
Overlooking Victoria’s Inner Harbour, the Fairmont Empress is the perfect base to explore this historic city and British Columbia’s Provincial Capital. Take a stroll around the picturesque Inner Harbour, lined with historic buildings such as the BC Parliament Building, indulge in fresh seafood over at Fisherman’s Wharf or partake in a Whalewatching tour. Recommended is a visit to the famous Butchart Gardens, a designated National Historic Site of Canada and explore the floral displays in the 55-acre garden.
Day 13
Vancouver
Board the ferry back to the mainland and watch for wildlife as you weave through the Gulf Islands. Upon arrival head straight out to explore the Pacific coastal city. Stroll or bike through Stanley Park, head over to Granville Island to explore a world of food, art & culture. Explore Vancouver’s diverse neighbourhoods; from Chinatown featured in many Hollywood blockbusters, to Gastown with its cobblestone streets as well as the Gastown steam clock, to the vibrant waterfront Yaletown offering boutique shops and galleries. Overnight at the Fairmont Waterfront, known for its panoramic views from its heated rooftop pool and its lush rooftop garden filled with herbs and honeybees used throughout the hotel’s restaurants.
Day 14
Vancouver
Explore more of Vancouver today, we recommend a trip to the North Shore to visit the famous Capilano Suspension Bridge and Park. Discover this natural beauty that awaits across the legendary Suspension Bridge, spanning 450 feet across the river below. Walk through the rainforest canopy on the TreeTops Adventure and view the canyon from the adrenalin pumping Cliffwalk. An alternative would be to take a seaplane tour and soar above the mountains and forests along the Pacific Ocean.
Day 15
Fly Home
Spend the morning buying the last of your keepsakes or visit the FlyOver Canada experience, right across from the Fairmont Waterfront, for a great way to wrap up your Canadian adventure before heading to the airport for your flight home.
