Explore lively neighbourhoods filled with cafés, breweries, and seafood restaurants serving the freshest sourced seafood. With two full days at your disposal, take a day trip to Peggy’s Cove or wander the picturesque Public Gardens before returning to the city for live music and harbour views.
Chéticamp
Collect your motorhome and once stocked and ready, begin your scenic drive toward Chéticamp, following coastal roads that hint at the beauty ahead. This Acadian village offers colourful homes, warm hospitality, and quick access to Cape Breton Highlands National Park. After settling into your campsite, stretch your legs with a sunset walk along the shore and prepare for the dramatic landscapes awaiting you on the Cabot Trail.
Cape Breton Highlands National Park
Spend the day driving the famed Cabot Trail, a winding route of rugged cliffs, sweeping ocean views, and highland scenery. Stop throughout the day for lookouts, short hikes, or wildlife sightings and take advantage of the many picturesque viewpoints. Continue to Ingonish, known for its beaches and peaceful coves. This is a perfect spot to unwind after a full day of scenic exploration. Enjoy a quiet evening surrounded by coastal beauty as you settle into your campground for the night.
Port aux Basques
Catch the ferry from North Sydney to Newfoundland, watching as the Atlantic stretches endlessly around you. The crossing offers a relaxing break before your Newfoundland adventure begins. On arrival in Port aux Basques, settle into a nearby campground and take in the rugged coastal landscapes that greet you immediately. Explore local viewpoints or enjoy a seaside stroll. This first night on the island offers a gentle introduction to Newfoundland’s dramatic and windswept beauty.
Corner Brook
Drive north towards Corner Brook, a city surrounded by mountains, fjords, and dense forest. Spend the day exploring scenic lookouts such as Captain James Cook National Historic Site or tackling a local trail for panoramic views of the Bay of Islands. The town’s welcoming vibe, cozy cafés, and waterfront pathways make it an inviting stop. Whether you dive into history, nature, or local culture, Corner Brook provides a refreshing blend of outdoor adventure and comfortable urban amenities whilst exploring the Humber Valley.
Gros Morne - Tablelands
Journey into Gros Morne National Park to experience the mystical Tablelands, where the earth’s mantle rises to the surface in rusty tones unlike anything else in Canada. Relax into the slower pace of life here, enjoying the views across Bonne Bay as you settle in for the evening.
Gros Morne – Western Brook Pond
Today’s highlight is the iconic Western Brook Pond fjord. We recommend taking the boardwalk trail across sweeping marshlands to reach the dock and then boarding the boat for a dramatic cruise between towering cliffs and waterfalls. The sheer scale of the landscape is unforgettable.
Take time to explore nearby trails or simply relax and absorb the incredible wilderness.
St. Anthony
Continue north to St. Anthony, known for iceberg viewing, rugged coastlines, and fascinating Viking history. Walk among reconstructed buildings and imagine life here over a thousand years ago. With two nights in the area, you can also visit local hiking trails, scenic lighthouses, and maybe even spot some wildlife. St. Anthony’s remote beauty creates a memorable northern experience.
Gros Morne – Rocky Harbour

Spend the afternoon exploring coastal trails, visiting the Gros Morne Wildlife Museum, or relaxing beside Bonne Bay. This day gives you a chance to revisit favourite sights or discover new ones within the park. As evening settles, enjoy a seaside meal or local entertainment while reflecting on the rugged landscapes you’ve travelled through so far.
Twillingate
Leave western Newfoundland and travel east toward Twillingate, an idyllic island community famous for icebergs, its fishing heritage, and scenic coastal walks. Spend your time exploring charming harbours, visiting the Long Point Lighthouse, and hiking trails that reveal stunning views of the Atlantic. With two nights here, you’ll have time to settle in, slow down, and fully absorb the quiet coastal atmosphere that defines this picturesque region.
Terra Nova National Park
Make your way to Terra Nova National Park, a wilderness of rolling forests, sheltered bays, and peaceful hiking trails. Spend the afternoon kayaking, walking along shoreline paths, or visiting the park’s visitor centre to learn about the unique ecosystems found here. Terra Nova offers a contrast to Newfoundland’s rugged western landscapes with softer, quieter, and serene vibes. Settle into a tranquil campsite, surrounded by nature, and enjoy a calm evening that feels worlds away from hectic city life.
St. John’s
Arrive in St. John’s, Newfoundland’s vibrant and colourful capital. Wander the steep streets lined with Jellybean Row houses, explore Signal Hill for sweeping harbour views, and dive into the city’s rich history and lively food scene. Visit Cape Spear, the easternmost point in North America, or enjoy live music on George Street. With two nights here, you can balance adventure with relaxation, absorbing the city’s blend of coastal beauty, warm hospitality, and energetic culture.
Overnight Ferry
Begin the leisurely drive toward Argentia, following coastal routes that offer plenty of scenic stops along the way. Enjoy your last glimpses of Newfoundland’s windswept cliffs and wild ocean views before boarding the overnight ferry. Once settled on the ship, take in the sunset from the deck or why not treat yourself to a cabin where you can relax as you sail back toward Nova Scotia.

Known as the gateway to the Cabot Trail, Baddeck offers beautiful lake views and a welcoming small-town feel. After days of travel, Baddeck provides a relaxing and scenic stop that reconnects you with Nova Scotia’s gentler landscapes.
Burntcoat Head Park
Head to the dramatic Burntcoat Head Park, home to some of the world’s highest tides. Explore the ocean floor at low tide, walk among sculpted red sandstone formations, or join a guided interpretive tour to learn about the bay’s unique geology. This area offers a peaceful yet awe-inspiring experience, with incredible views and a unique coastline. Settle in for a quiet final evening, taking in the natural beauty that defines Nova Scotia’s Fundy shore.
Fly Home
Make your way back toward Halifax to return your RV, giving yourself plenty of time to clean up, repack, and reflect on your adventure.
