Day 1-3
Thanksgiving Ranch
Arrive at Calgary International Airport, and after picking up your hire car, head south, through the rolling prairies with the majestic Rocky Mountains looming in the distance, to Thanksgiving Ranch, set on an expansive 3,000 acres of luxurious isolation. This traditional family ranch is perfect for those looking for a classic ranch adventure with all the comforts of a premium hotel stay. Your 3-night stay at the ranch includes all meals, use of ranch amenities and 2 x 90-minute horse riding experiences. The idyllic location makes Thanksgiving Ranch the perfect place to relax and forget the stresses of modern life. You can also take a day trip to the nearby Waterton Lakes National Park to enjoy the spectacular scenery.
Day 4-5
Banff
Leave the prairies behind as it's time to explore the Rocky Mountains! Drive up to Banff and take time to explore this charming mountain town and the surrounding National Park. Relax in the historic Hot Springs, head up Sulphur Mountain on a scenic gondola ride to enjoy incredible views of the 6 mountain ranges that surround the town, cruise on Lake Minnewanka or take the riverside path to the beautiful Bow Falls.
Day 6-7
Lake Louise
For the journey to Lake Louise, we recommend leaving the highway and driving on the Bow Valley Parkway, stopping at viewpoints over Morant’s Curve and Castle Mountain and taking a walk at Johnstone Canyon to see spectacular waterfalls. You day ends at Lake Louise, one of the most photographed lakes in the world. The next day take a canoe out on the lake, hike up to the Lake Agnes Tea House and visit the nearby Moraine Lake
Day 8
Calgary
Spend a final morning in the mountains before driving back to Calgary. Drop off your hire car at a downtown location, and get ready, because it's showtime!
Day 9
Calgary Stampede
Over the next two days we welcome you to the event most appropriately named “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth”. Included this afternoon is a ticket to the rodeo with gate admission. The best of the best saddle-up for a three hour ground shaking showcase of world-class rodeo action. There are Saddle Bronco and Bareback riding events followed by the most dangerous event of all - Bull Riding but the excitement doesn’t stop there, check out the speed and timing of the barrel racing or the fun of the children’s sheep riding events.
Day 10
Calgary Stampede
Enjoy the atmosphere as the whole city embraces Stampede fever, if you are feeling hungry why not attend one of the free Calgary Stampede Breakfasts that the city has become well known for. Great food and hospitality await! Later today return to Stampede Park for the Rangeland Derby, where in the evening, nine heart-stopping Chuckwagon races explode in an all-out dash for the finish line. Chuckwagon racing is an amazing contest of nerves and horsepower - a challenge that ignites thousands of fans. Following this enjoy the outdoor stage spectacular. For two hours, you will be dazzled by the lavishly produced and choreographed non-stop musical variety grandstand show, featuring elaborate song and dance numbers and acrobatics.
Day 11
Fly Home
The time has come for some last-minute shopping and to say farewell to Canada. Transfer independently to Calgary International Airport for your return flight.
